so i get a phone call at work today from sister who asks if mummy has called to tell me that she will be visiting me in sydney.  to which i reply no and i had no idea she was coming.  sister tells me that mummy has booked a ticket because she has been worried that i've been ill and thinks i might get swine flu with the pandemic in australia.  plus i've sounded really tired when we spoke over the last few weeks.  and that i've not been eating well which contributes to my being ill and sounding tired.  

i'm looking forward to mummy's visit because i will have an excuse to drink red wine every night now.  and have home cooked meals which haven't been a feature in my kitchen for many months. mummy will find that the food she bought on her last visit still intact in my kitchen to her horror.

like all asian mothers, mummy is a believer that its not good enough to hear that your children are okay.  its better to see with their very own eyes that we are.
