okay, i've been tagged by evol kween to tell you eight things you don't know about me. i hesitate for a grand total of 30 seconds feeling concerned that the image of my perfect life will be tarnished in the blogsphere. but i stop worrying since none of the men i said i wanted to marry or kermit have contacted me. so there's no one to really impress here...

1. i won first prize in a baby competition in my suburb. thanks to that basket of prizes, i turned out to be a tubby boy.

2. i lived on a diet of half portions, dried fruit, water, no sugar or treats for a year when i was 13, determined i needed to lose weight. i went on runs almost everyday on a hill behind my apartment. it paid off but i was left with stretch marks on my back which you can still see today.

3. i learnt how to smoke and drink when i was 13 and spent my saturday nights in my sister's bedroom inhaling marlboros and downing full strength beers.

4. between 14-18, i was deeply involved in christianity and attended a charismatic church. it was a difficult period in my life because i still identified with being gay and there were lots of fit boys around. on sundays, there was a ritual in which you had to hug and bless members in the congregation and i had to hug these fit boys and try not to have sinful thoughts during the service. how fucking hard.

5. when i was in uni in melbourne, i saw this married man who was in his 40s with a couple of kids who lived in sydney. he'd come to melbourne often for work and he'd take me out for meals and buy me really classy presents like books and CDs. i didn't let him lay a finger on me as much as he wanted to.

6. when i am drunk, i like to shop online. so i keep my credit card next to me in bed and search for things to buy on my laptop. most of the time, i complete the checkout before i pass out.

7. i am very fond of boys named justin, gavin or stefan.

8. i always watch love actually when i am coming down because it makes me cry. i start feeling hopeful again that i might find love one day.
